Unique and One-of-a-Kind Homes Around the World

In honor of an “Out of the Ordinary” auction at Christie’s this month, we showcase an extraordinary collection of luxury properties

Celebrating all things extraordinary and unusual, Christie’s will host its third annual Out of the Ordinary auction in its South Kensington showroom on September 10. This unique sale presents collectors with a wealth of fascinating and eclectic items; from a Tom Cruise ‘Mission: Impossible’ costume, to a crown modelled by Kate Moss on her first magazine photo-shoot, to pieces of sporting history and objects with royal association.

In honor of the forthcoming Out of the Ordinary sale, we spotlight some of the most unconventional and intriguing estates on the market today—from geometrically shaped “futuristic” homes to properties designed in the “windmill” architectural style.
