"This August, we present an extraordinary collection of properties that all share one attribute: exquisite interior décor. These unique offerings from around the world range from historic landmarks, which have been expertly restored to their original splendor, to modern masterpieces styled for luxurious 21st-century living. Stone Canyon Ranch (pictured above), a 10,000-acre equestrian compound in the California Coast Ranges, falls into the latter category. This work of art is notable not just for its state-of-the-art amenities but also for its 7,900 square feet of contemporary interior spaces, which were designed by renowned architect Ugo Sap.”

Artful living areas abound in this collection of properties. In Mexico’s central highlands, San Miguel de Allende is the idyllic setting for Casa Heyne. The hilltop hacienda is replete with 18,000 square feet of artisan-crafted interiors inspired by Spanish colonial architecture. Our next stop is The Teiger House in Bernardsville, New Jersey. Avid art collector, David Teiger commissioned Roto Architects to create a country home with a “difference,” and this modernist masterwork does not disappoint with its 6,400-square-foot free-flowing interior. Finally, on the shores of California’s Lake Tahoe is a home that epitomizes luxurious lakefront living. The Nineteen Seventy features a magnificent glass-walled living room overlooking Lake Tahoe and the High Sierra.

A grand entrance sets the stage for a home’s interior delights, and these three properties’ entry halls offer a glimpse into the artistry that awaits within. In Vienna, Villa Lieblein is a 1924 landmark with a palatial entrance gallery adorned with a grand wooden staircase and crystal chandelier, which evokes a timeless grandeur. In Austin at One Niles Road, the focal point of a luxurious Florentine-style home is a remarkable staircase inspired by the stairs of the Laurentian Library in Florence; each step was carved from one solid piece of stone. How do you introduce one of California’s finest estates? At Stone Canyon Ranch, the main house is entered through a sunlit glass, wood, and stone foyer that was designed to blend with the surrounding landscape.
